REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Xiao Qian paid a courtesy call on presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto in Hambalang, West Java, on Wednesday. In a press statement, here, Thursday, Prabowo Subianto expressed gratitude for the visit.
Prabowo said China is a huge and influential nation in the world. According to him, Indonesia, which follows an independent and active foreign policy, lauds sound bilateral relations with China.
"Indonesia must establish sound relationships with every country in Asia and other continents in the world, but the ties must be mutually beneficial to both Indonesia and its partner nations," Prabowo said.
Ambassador Qian congratulated Prabowo, who is officially a presidential aspirant for the presidential elections 2019. He wished Prabowo and his party, Gerindra, success.
He also conveyed an invitation to Prabowo to attend a reception of Chinese National Day to be held on September 27, 2018.
