REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Vice President Jusuf Kalla (JK) said the intimate moment between President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Gerindra Party chief patron and Chairman of Indonesia Pencak Silat Association (IPSI) Prabowo Subianto indicated that the next year's political competition will be smooth and fair. The two figures are presidential candidates in 2019 presidential election.

“It shows the competition will be fair and polite. The leaders can ben opposite, but (they) embrace (each other),” said JK on Thursday (August 30).

JK urged people to keep situation conducive during the 2019 presidential election and the campaign period. Moreover, the two presidential candidates have demonstrated fair and peaceful competition.

Therefore, JK is optimistic that this good moment can be maintained until 2019. On the other hand, he emphasised the moment between Jokowi and Prabowo was not fake, but rather spontaneity.

Meanwhile, Vice presidential candidate Sandiaga Uno said he got goosebumps when seeing the video and photos, as both of those figures actually will compete in 2019 presidential election. He assessed it showed unity, despite having different choices, but there is still one goal, to advance Indonesia.

"I want Indonesia to be peaceful and I feel goosebumps yesterday because it's what I want, we are all brothers,” said Sandiaga who paired with Prabowo in 2019 presidential election on Thursday (August 30).

Jokowi was seen very intimate with Prabowo, who is his rival in 2019 presidential election on pencak silat (martial arst) final at Padepokan Pencak Silat in Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, East Jakarta. They were embraced by an Indonesian martial art fighter Hanifan Yudani Kusuma who won gold medal.
