REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Incumbent President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will again invite and gather the secretary-generals of the supporting political parties. He wanted to discuss the technical registration of the presidential candidate 2019 to General Election Commission (KPU).

"Later, in the near future, if not Wednesday night or Thursday night, the president will invite the chairman and secretary generals of the parties," cadre and former PDI-P Secretary General, Pramono Anung, stated at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Tuesday.

He noted that Aug 10, 2018, was the deadline for the registration of presidential and vice presidential candidates at the General Election Committee. However, Anung stressed that only Jokowi knew exactly when he would register with the KPU.

"Considering Friday to be the last day, anything related to the time of registration could be done on Friday or may be the day earlier. However, it is only the president who knows the time of registration," he revealed.

Anung also emphasized that the political parties of Jokowi's coalition supporters are still firm. According to him, none of the political parties stated or intended to withdraw. All of them were still on one vote, as agreed in a meeting between Jokowi and the secretaries of supporting political parties some time ago.

"No one wants to back down and they were firm," he pointed out.
