REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Hubbul Wathon Dhikr Assembly (MDHW) chairman KH Musthofa Aqil Siradj said the 2nd National Dhikr held on Wednesday (Aug 1) to invole around 1,000 ulemas. They will come to State Palace to dhikr in commemorating the 73 Independence Day of Indonesia.

Kiai Musthofa said all ulemas would pray to calm President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) so he could solve the nation's problems, including in welcoming political year.

“So we hope Mr. Jokowi will be calm and not affected with anything,” said Kiai Musthofa.

According to Kiai Musthofa, ulemas needed to calm Jokowi as many people tried to influence him in a bid to be his running mate in 2019 presidential election. However, he said Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) cleric Maimun Zubair or usually called as Mbah Maimun has asked Jokowi to stay calm.

“Mbah Maimun says Jokowi has to be calm for the sake of nation,” Kiai Musthofa added.

Furthermore, Musthofa said many ulemas understand about the way Jokowi carried his duty. According to him, Jokowi is a modest person, so the ulemas were willing to pray for him to able keep this nation from disunity.

“His modesty is his most touching personality,” Musthofa said.
