Prabowo remains silent after meeting Amien and PA 212

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- A number of 212 Alumni Brotherhood (PA 212) figures and several politicians gathered at Sultan Hotel, Jakarta, on Monday (July 23) night. National Mandate Party (PAN) Honorary Council Chairman Amien Rais and Gerindra Party General Chairman Prabowo Subianto were seen to attend the meeting.

Amien who came with Secretary-General PAN Eddy Suparno explained it was a brainstorming session. Therefore, the meeting would not generate final conclusion. "It was an open ended meeting," he said before the meeting.

After the meeting, Prabowo left the hotel without answering to the reporters' questions. The former commander of the TNI special forces only smiled and waved his hands while rushing to his car at around 21.09 Western Indonesia Standard Time.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of Gerindra Party Sugiono also remained silent. He did not say a word about the result of the meeting.

Prabowo was scheduled to meet with General Chairman of Democratic Party Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) on Tuesday. It was a rescheduled meeting following cancelation on last week plan.

"The meeting will still be at Kuningan, South Jakarta, but the time is not set yet," mocratic Party secretary general Hinca Panjaitan said at Parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday.

Hinca confirmed the meeting between SBY and Prabowo was about to 2019 presidential election. However, he could not specify whether the talks lead to his party and Gerindra coalition.

“They (SBY and Prabowo) will talk about what needed to be done between August 4 to 10, but there is no agreement yet, all the options are still open,” Hinca added.

The meeting between SBY and Prabowo was scheduled on last July 18. However, SBY must be treated at Gatot Subroto Army Hospital (RSPAD) because he was exhausted after travelling to Pacitan and Yogyakarta. Prabowo then paid a visit to the hospital, but claimed no political discussion occurred.
