REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Indonesian Police General Tito Karnavian confirmed that the perpetrators of the terror attack in Indramayu Police station are members of the Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) group. He noted that the police have intensified their effort to arrest the perpetrators of the terror attacks.

"The attack in Indramayu was committed by JAD members," Karnavian stated at the headquarters of the police mobile brigade command (Brimob) in Kelapa Dua, Depok of West Java.

Recent terror attacks, including those in Indramayu and Yogyakarta, were seen as the right moments for the police to take legal measures against terrorist suspects and trace the involvement of other parties too.

"They have committed a crime, and this has opened the chance for us. Previously, we could only monitor (their movement). But as they have acted against the law, we now have a reason to arrest them and disclose the network," he noted.

He claimed to have mapped the terrorist networking and ordered the police anti-terror squad Densus 88 to hunt down the perpetrators of the attacks.

Earlier on Sunday, at around 2.35 a.m., two unknown persons, a husband and a wife identified as NH and G, attacked the Indramayu Police by forcing their way into the station. The couple was speeding on a motorcycle to enter the headquarters, and they were shot by police on duty.

However, the two turned around and headed for the exit gate after hurling a pressure cooker bomb at the officers. No police officer was injured in the incident, and there was no explosion at the scene.

One of the perpetrators G fell from the motorcycle after being shot, but NH managed to flee. The police anti-terror squad finally arrested NH in Jatibarang Baru Village of Jatibarang sub-district in Indramayu.

The suspect G is being treated at the Bhayangkara Hospital Losarang in Indramayu.
