Two suspected terrorists arrested in Jambi province

The two suspected terrorist were linked to the Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) network.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAMBI -- The National Police's Counterterrorism Squad, Densus 88, arrested two suspected terrorists of the Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) network in Bungo district, Jambi province, on Thursday.  The two suspected terrorists are identified by their initials as S, a resident of Sepunggur village, Batin II Babbeko sub-district, and G, a resident of Pasir Putih village, Rimbo Tengah sub-district, Bungo district.

"Densus 88 has arrested two more suspected terrorists in Bungo district on Thursday (June 7) at around 04.00 p.m. local time," spokesman for the Jambi Provincial Police Adjunct Senior Commissioner Kuswahyudi Tresnadi said.

Tresnadi said the two suspected terrorists are being held in custody at the Bungo district police station for questioning.

"The two are still at the Bungo district police station and will soon be taken to Jambi where they will be held in custody at the Jambi Provincial Police's Mobile Brigade (Brimob) Command Headquarters," he said.

They belong to the same network accused of attacking Dharmasraya police station some time ago, he said. They also belong to the same network as Eka accused of setting fire to the Dharmasraya police station.

Eka is believed to be a member of Jamaah Ansarut Tauhid (JAD) network allegedly involved in a series of bomb attacks in Surabaya, East Java, and Riau some time ago.
