REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, DENPASAR -- The State oil and gas firm, PT Pertamina, has set up a task force that will work round-the-clock to ease distribution of fuel oil and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in Bali ahead of Eid al-Fitr festivities. The task force will monitor distribution and stocks at each gas station and LPG distributor, said the Pertamina marketing manager for Bali and West Nusa Tenggara, Doni Indrawan, here on Friday.

The task force would also coordinate with the Association of Fuel Station Owners (Hiswana Migas) and the police, he said. The task force would be stationed at each fuel oil station, LPG depot and aviation turbine fuel station, including in the Pertamina marketing office in Surabaya, East Java. It would work round-the-clock from May 30 to June 28.

Pertamina would supply fuel oil in Bali based on the projected consumption ahead of Eid al-Fitr. The demand for premium gasoline was expected to touch 728 kilolitres a day during the festivities compared to 602 kilolitres on normal days.

Pertalite gasoline consumption was expected to increase to 1,335 kilolitres from the normal 1,161 kilolitres a day, while pertamax gasoline consumption was projected to reach 831 kilolitres from the normal 716 kilolitres a day.
