REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SURABAYA -- Airlangga University (Unair) rector, Mohammad Nasih thanked National Agency for Terrorism Countermeasures (BNPT) for revealing a number of campuses that already infiltrated with radicalism. However, he said it was unfair to mention the campus of a terror suspect.

Nasih believed it was a personal matter and did not have a direct relation to the campus. On the other hand, Nasih asked BNPT to further clarify the data.

"If necessary mention by name, by address, and the other details, including the time of incidence. Let us know whether it was our students, teachers or staff so we can do more effective steps," said Nasih on Monday (May 28).

According to Nasih, Airlangga University has designed activities and curriculum of students that have been adjusted to the mission of the university. Both curricular and extracurricular are all designed to add student soft skills, not related to terrorism or radicalism.

He asked BNPT to give details of data related the parties who involved in radicalism, especially at Airlangga University. Nasih said, his party can not trace more deeply the involvement of certain parties at the educational institution in planting radicalism understanding.

"We don't have a device, intelligence who can keep an eye on people who come here, so we want the detail data," Nasih added.

Nasih asserted BNPT needed to explain in detail in order to enable university to take effective actions in the effort to shut down the spread of the notion. Moreover, our mission and BNPT is same, to make generation away from terrorism, radicalism, and savage acts committed by terrorists, said Nasih.

Earlier, BNPT director of prevention Hamli said many state universities in Indonesia have been exposed with radicalism. Some of the universities are University of Indonesia (UI), Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Diponegoro University (Undip), Surabaya Institute of Technology (ITS), Airlangga University (Unair), and Brawijaya University.
