REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Four Air Force officers failed to meet a summons from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Monday. They were scheduled to undergo questioning as witnesses in an alleged case of corruption related to the procurement of transport helicopter AgustaWestland (AW)-101.

"Today we plan to question four Air Force officers as witnesses at the office of the National Defense Force (TNI)'s Military Police in Cilangkap (East Jakarta). Our investigators need information from the witnesses for authentication purpose. But none of them has shown up and they have not informed us of the reasons for their absence," KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah said here on Monday.

He said the KPK also plans to question other witnesses.

In investigating the alleged graft case, KPK has been coordinating with the TNI's Military Police and the State Audit Board (BPK), he said.

"We hope the BPK will soon complete its audit so the investigation can be continued to the next step. In addition, the Government Goods/Service Procurement Policy Institute will also be involved as an expert in procurement process," he said.

On January 3, 2018, the anti-graft body also has questioned former air force chief of staff Marshal (ret) Agus Supriatna as a witness in the case against the suspect, identified by his initials as IKS.

But Agus Supriatna stopped short of explaining specifically his questioning and left the case to the KPK. "Everything is the task and responsibility of the KPK. So, I have explained what I could explain there," he said.

He also refused to divulge whether there is alleged corruption in the procurement of the helicopter.

"Don't ask about it to me," he said.

The KPK has named IKS who is director of PT Diratama Jaya Mandiri as a suspect in the case believed to have inflicted Rp224 billion in losses to the state.

Meanwhile, the TNI's Military Police has named five suspects in the alleged graft case. All the suspects are Air Force officers.
