REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, GORONTALO -- The Joint Team from Lion Air Flight Accident and Fire Suppression of the Soekarno Hatta Airport and Djalaludin Gorontalo Airport retrieved a Lion Air aircraft that had skidded off the runway on Wednesday morning. Head of the Djalaludin Gorontalo Airport Power Sihaloho stated that the aircraft could be retrieved on the second or third day after it skidded off the runway.

"Thank God, we could retrieve the aircraft at 12:35 a.m. local time through hard work and synergy," he remarked.

He explained that the team had encountered obstacles in the process, so three attempts were made to retrieve the aircraft.

"In the first attempt, we failed, as the left and right wheels collapsed on the ground. During the second attempt, the front and right wheels of the aircraft were moved on to the asphalt, but the left one collapsed again," he stated.

After the recovery team rested, Sihaloho further remarked that with accurate technique and patience, the aircraft could be recovered completely.

Earlier, on Sunday (Apr 29), a Lion Air aircraft, carrying 174 passengers and seven crew members, slipped off the runway of the Djalaludin Gorontalo Airport.
