REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) chairman Mohamad Sohibul Iman said President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) could lost in a battle against an empty boxes in 2019 presidential election. His comment appeared after seeing the movement of #2019GantiPresiden (change the president through election in 2019) that increasingly massive.

Sohibul assessed many people showed the desire to make changes. He said if there was only sole candidate in 2019 presidential election, people would prefer the empty boxes.

"Although the definitive candidate does not yet exist, it remains remarkably welcomed. It means that even the empty boxes are preferred by the people," said Sohibul on Sunday (April 8).

Sohibul said there is no official presidential candidate who became the spearhead of this movement. He explained, there is currently no political party or coalition of political parties that officially declared candidate for president except Jokowi.

"Currently only Mr. Jokowi has officially declared he will run in 2019 presidential election with enough support from coalition," Sohibul added.

Furthermore, Sohibul believed #2019GantiPresident movement is purely an idea that widely welcomed by public. He said the movement does not see if there was an alternative candidate that was officially carried outside.

In the other hand, Sohibul also commented Jokowi's respond over #2019GantiPresiden movement. He said Jokowi took it easy, ordinary, and not a crime.

"I'm glad with Mr Jokowi's response, thus the contestation in 2019 presidential election is getting more fun," said Sohibul.

Earlier, President Jokowi has responded to the movement and the t-shirt that being sold that wrote #2019GantiPresiden. He assessed t-shirts could not made a person elected as president. "The one who can replace the president in this country is the people and with the blessings of Allah SWT," he remarked.

The #2019GantiPresiden movement arose to compete with #DuaPeriode, a social media campaign by Jokowi's supporters to re-elect him in 2019 presidential election. One of the initator of #2019GantiPresident was an artist and activist Neno Warisman.
