Jokowi, Megawati discuss national, international issues

Jokowi and Megawati hold routing meeting at the Batu Tulis Palace, Bogor.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Chairperson of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) Megawati Soekarnoputri discussed various domestic and international issues during their routine meeting at the Batu Tulis Palace, Bogor, Tuesday evening. Hasto Kristiyanto, secretary general of PDIP said the Batu Tulis place has witnessed of a historic dialog between the two leaders. 

"Mrs Megawati Soekarnoputri and Mr Jokowi periodically spare time to meet. The two updated each others on various national and international problems," Hasto, said in a statement here, Wednesday.

The Batu Tulis palace has become a favorite place because of its beautiful Indonesian architecture combined with nature contour full of trees and flowers.

The palace is so peaceful and has fresh air influencing clear mind of the two prominent figures trying to find solutions to the national problems, he said.

"The Batu Tulis palace is very suitable for contemplation, as it is far from political noises in Jakarta. What being discussed are for the interest of and commitment to making progress of the Great Indonesia," he remarked.

Kristiyanto was present during the dialog between President Jokowi and Megawati Soekarnoputri, former president of Indonesia.
