REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) chairman Ahmad Sobri Lubis said Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) secretary general Hasto Kristianto has given fake testimony while became witness in preacher Alfian Tanjung hearing at Central Jakarta District Court on Wednesday (Feb 7). Hasto said a lot of children of Indonesian Communist Party (PKI) members joined FPI.
In the hearing, Hasto claimed to hear the information directly from FPI high priest, Habib Rizieq Shihab. However, Ahmad asserted that Hasto is a liar and reminded him to be careful with the law related.
"Hasto give fake information in preacher Alfian Tanjung hearing and even he claims that the information came from Habib Rizieq's statement," said Ahmad on Wednesday (Feb 8).

Ahmad said Habib Rizieq has never made such statemet, whether in front of Hasto or not.
On the other hand, he admitted Hasto ever came to met Habib Rizieq at FPI Mega Mendung base camp, in Bogor on last January 2017. At that time, there was also FPI deputy chairman Ja'far Shidiq.
In the occasion, Hasto apologized over PDIP chairperson Megawati Sukarnoputri's alleged blasphemous speech during in the PDIP 44th anniversary that was protested by Muslim people. She was accused insulting Muslims' pillars of faith, especially regarding the faith in the final days.

Habib Rizieq then advised Hasto that the PDIP should not become shelter for children of PKI members or people who believed in communist ideology. Habib Rizieq even has asked Hasto to made an open statement to make sure PDIP is not PKI's shelter.
Nevertheless, Habib Rizieq said to Hasto that PKI children or whoever that has shown repentance should not be disturbed if they are no longer carry the ideology of communist. Their social, economy, educational, and political rights also must be restored.
Habib Rizieq insisted they should not bear the burden of their parents' mistake. In this context, FPI always ready to educate and nurture children of PKI members or their descendants who want to be a faithful and devoted Muslim.
