REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Coordinating Maritime Affairs Minister Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan led Indonesian delegation in following up Qatar's investment plan in the Indonesia on Sunday (December 10). He will attend three bilateral meetings that starts from the meeting with Qatar Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

The three bilateral meetings would discuss about technical matters on investment implementation in Indonesia. 

Luhut also scheduled to meet Qatar Finance Minister Ali Shareef Al Emadim who also concurrently Secretary General of Supreme Council of Economic Affairs and Investment and Deputy Prime Minister Khalid bin Mohammad Al Attiyah, who also served as Defense Minister.

Luhut would also meet with Secretary General of Qatar Foreign Ministry. 

Indonesian Ambassador to Qatar, M Basri Sidehabi, Special Evoy for the Middle East and OIC Alwi Shihab, West Nusa Tenggara Governor TGH Zainul Majdi (TGB), Deputy of Maritime Sovereignty Coordination Ministry of Maritime Affairs Arif Havas Oegroseno, Director of the Middle East Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sunarko are among the envoy.

"We came with West Nusa Tenggara Governor to realize Qatar's plans to invest in the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (KEK) and runway expansion project in the Lombok airport," Luhut said in a press release on Monday (December 11).

The meeting also discussed the settlement of Bilateral Investment Treaty between Indonesia and Qatar. 

Further more, it will also discuss development of agriculture sector in Kalimantan, aquaculture in Sabang, and support of Asian Games in Indonesia next year.

"As Qatar's request related to agricultural cooperation, we also prepare 100 thousand hectares area in Central Borneo," he added.

The follow-up to this bilateral visit, technical team from the government of Qatar will conduct site visit of the potential investment locations. 

Luhut said Qatar's team will come to Indonesia on December 27.
