REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SEMARANG -- The Indonesian National Narcotics Agency (BNN) has seized 13 million paracetamol caffein carisoprodol (PCC) pills from a rented house that had functioned as a plant to produce the drugs on Halmahera Raya Street in Semarang.
BNN chief Commissioner General Budi Waseso remarked here on Monday that the plant could produce millions of PCC pills in a week.
The police have arrested Djoni, the owner of the illegal factory, and investor of the factory Sri Anggono from West Java's city of Tasikmalaya.
"With such a huge production, they could earn Rp2.7 billion of net income per month," he added.
According to Waseso, the drug already has its market.
"Such illegal products have been sold in the Kalimantan area," he remarked.
The police have conducted its investigation for five months before it could expose the syndicate.
"This is a professional industry. Its production room was designed to be soundproof, so that its surrounding neighbors would not be aware of it," he revealed.
