REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PALEMBANG -- Secretary of South Sumatra's Transportation Agency, Uzirman said LRT tickets will be available for free during 2018 Asian Games.

The facility will not be only available for athletes but also the public.

"All of LRT passangers will not be charged," he said on Wednesday.

According to him, local government will coordinate with PT KAI as the operator to provide free LRT tickets. 

Uzirman said the free tickets plan is part of efforts to succeed the next international sporting event, also to invites more people to see 2018 Asian Games event.

"We hope more people will come to watch 2018 Asian Games," he said.

The construction of LRT from Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II airport to Jakabaring Palembang has reached 70 percent of completion. 

The LRT will serve 13 stations throughout 24 kilometers route.
