REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - House of Representatives's speaker Setya Novanto sent a letter to Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) requesting consideration of KPK leaders to delay investigation process against him. He also asked KPK to respect the pre-trial process

"Mr. Novanto sent a letter to KPK, asking for KPK to postpone the investigation until pre-trial process in South Jakarta District Court finished," said Head of the House Leadership Bureau, Hani Tahapari, who conveyed the letter to KPK, in DPR RI Building Jakarta, Wednesday.

Hani explained, Novanto filed a pre-trial lawsuit by referring to the pre-trial lawsuit filed by Commissioner General of Police Budi Gunawan in 2015. "Novanto asked for consideration of KPK to respect the pre-trial process," she added.

Novanto sent the letter to KPK as a citizen who respects the legal process, she said. The pre-trial session of Novanto has been held in South Jakarta District Court on Tuesday, but Novanto could not come due to illness. 

Novanto is currently being treated at Siloam Hospital in Semanggi, Jakarta, due to vertigo disease.
