REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDARLAMPUNG -- A Jakarta-bound Lion Air plane failed to take off twice from Raden Inten II Airport in Lampung province on Tuesday due to technical and parking problems, a spokesperson said.

The problems caused the plane to delay its flight twice, the airline's customer service officer Ela Puspita Sari stated.

The Boeing 737-800 plane, with flight number JT 245, was supposed to take off at 08.00 a.m. However, 45 minutes after passengers boarded the plane, the crew announced technical and parking problems.

All the 189 passengers were ordered to descend the plane as it was to be repaired.

Six hours later, at around 01.00 p.m. the crew ordered the passengers to board the plane.

Some of the passengers had earlier protested against the airline for not replacing the plane with another plane. "We lodged a protest against the airline for using the same plane and not replacing it with another plane that is technically ready," one of the passengers remarked.

When the plane was about to take off, the crew suddenly cancelled the flight for technical problem.

The airline later used the plane, which had just arrived from Batam, to transport the passengers to Jakarta.
