REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, DENPASAR -- Several Chinese state-owned enterprises have expressed interest to invest in a new airport in Kubutambahan Village, Buleleng, Bali.

"We are already aware of the plan to start a new airport in Bali, and several enterprises have already contacted us to express their interest," People's Republic of China General Consulate in Bali Hu Yinquan stated at Denpasar on Tuesday.

According to Yinquan, the airport project is believed to be viable and important to facilitate the arrival of tourists, especially Chinese travelers, when they visit Bali.

If the new airport plan were to receive the go-ahead, Yinquan said his side would certainly want to be involved in the development process.

Meanwhile, Bali Independent Development (Pembari) General Director Rolly Irwananda said Pembari will open its doors to all investors to invest in the development of the airport.

"Pembari is very open to any investors for the development of this airport, the most important aspect being they should follow the rules and contribute to the welfare of the people around," he emphasized.
