REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- In a recorded voice statement, Habib Rizieq Shihab reminded the law enforcement officers to process the case of Viktor Bungtilu Laiskodat.
"I warn the law enforcement officers not to look for any reason to protect blasphemer as happened in Ahok case," he said.
On May 9, Former Jakarta governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) has been sentenced two years of imprisonment after proven guilty for blasphemy.
Habib Rizieq said in Indonesia, no one is immune to the law. Anyone who was guilty and broke the law must be prosecuted. If the the legal process ran fair and honest in accordance to the rules applied in the republic, he believed there would be no national commotion.
However, Habib Rizieq cautioned not to blame Muslims if they staged second volume mass rally Action to Defend Islam when Viktor case is being politicized to protect the blasphemer.

"Therefore, I urge, from the Holy City Makkah al-Mukarromah, to the entire Indonesian nation, let's detain Viktor Bungtilu Laiskodat and process him legally. Let's uphold justice. Keep the interfaith harmony for the sake of beloved Unitary State of Republic of Indonesia. Let's keep Indonesia peace and blessed. Allahu Akbar (God is Great)," he exclaimed.

Habib Rizieq made a recorded voice statement from Mecca, Saudi Arabia, on August 8. His lawyer, Sugito Atmo Pawiro, confirmed it as Habib Rizieq's voice. Lately, Habib Rizieq's statement was widely spread in a form of a video using the High Priest of Islamic Defenders Front photograph and rolling text of his speech.
In a video that went viral, Viktor said in his visit to Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara that political parties namely Gerindra, PAN, Democrat, and Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) were supporters of Islamic extremist group in Indonesia. He assessed the four parties agree with the idea of upholding caliphate in Indonesia.
