REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Home Affairs Minister Tjahjo Kumolo said the public have to be careful in responding Nasdem party lawmaker Viktor Laiskodat. He advised there should be clarification process.

"When there was a statement from anyone, we should read, hear it from original source. In Viktor case, the edited recording was widely spread. It must be different with the original recording," Tjahjo said to reporters after attending discussion of Election Law at Century Hotel, Senayan, Central Jakarta, Saturday (August 12).

Regarding the offended party, Tjahjo said there was mechanism to process it. First, they have to seek clarification whether Viktor really said the offending statement. "Was the video recording original? If it was edited and be used as legal basis to file a complaint to the Honorable Council of the People's Consultative Council or police, it would be a shame," he said.
