REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Researcher of Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW), Adnan Topan Husodo, revealed a posibility of the existance of informal organization inside or outside the police that disrupted the investigation to sulfuric acid attack on Novel Baswedan, a senior investigator of KPK.

His suspicion arose since the case has not been solved four months after the incident.

"There is an informal organization, probably inside or outside the police, that disrupt formal work of the police in exposing Novel's assailants," he said in Central Jakarta on Saturday (August 5).

The organization has become the force that slowed down the investigation of Novel's case. The force might had intervene nor done other intelligent efforts to the formal work of the police, Adnan said.

"There is possibility of other force that make this legal process sluggish, in the form of interventions and counter-intelligence attempts to what the police are doing," he said.

According to Adnan, the obstacle in solving Novel's case was not the lack of evidence. He said the technical issue was not the real matter. It was structural issue.

"We know government organization could not be controlled by one person. Faction of certain groups exist, have their own role and decision," he said.
