AP II reports 62 percent increase in profit

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- State-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II recorded a 62 percent increase in net profit to Rp1.46 trillion in the first half of this year over the same period last year. 

In the first six months of last year, PT Angkasa Pura II reported a net profit of Rp905 billion, Chief Executive of the company Muhammad Awaluddin said here on Friday. 

Awaluddin said the company recorded Rp3.82 trillion in income in the forst half of 2017 or an increase of 29 percent from Rp2.97 trillion in the same period last year. 

He said aeronautics business such as passenger service charge (PSC), aircraft landing cost, aviobridge, etc. contributed Rp2.32 trillion to the income. 

Income from non aeronautics business including concession, commercial room rent, cargo, etc. contributed around Rp1.49 trillion to the income. 

The increase in the net profit was followed with a 53 percent rise in earning before interest, tax , depreciation and amortization (EBTIDA) to Rp1.92 trillion in the first half of 2017 from Rp1.25 trillion in the same period in 2016. 

The performance overshot the company's target set by its shareholders for the first half of the year. 

The fast growing tourism industry is in line with the government's programs also contributed to the strong growth recorded by the company.
