REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Chairman of Presidium of Indonesian Police Watch Neta S. Pane argued that it would be a mistake and serious violation to the law when Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) was imprisoned in Mobile Brigade (Brimob) headquarter while the case had been inkracht. He expected that Brimob and National Police would not let the violation happened.

Neta asked the Minister of Law and Human Rights to transfer Ahok from Brimob Prison to detention center. “Ahok imprisonment to Brimob Prison after the case incracht is a mistake and violation to law,” said Neta in a short message to Republika.co.id on Thursday (June 22).

He added, as law enforcer institutions, Brimob and National Police must be consistent, professional, proportional and independent. So, the facilitation would not be misused by other parties.

Previously, the Attorney General of General Crime Agung Noor Rachmad said Ahok would run the prison term in Mako Brimob prison. “This is a request of Cipinang Detention Center,” said Noor Rachmad in Jampidum Room, Jakarta, on Thursday (June 21).
