Police have not confirm the suicide bombers are from JAD network

By observing the pattern to the attack, police are suspicious the blast at Kampung Melayu on Wednesday (May 24) night was related to Jamaah Ansoru Daulah network. But they are still need to identify the perpetrators before confirming it.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- National Police was reluctant to immediately conclude any relationship of Jamaah Ansoru Daulah (JAD) to the suicide bombers in Kampung Melayu, East Jakarta. Police formerly identified the alleged bombers before seeking the terrorist network.  

National Police Spokesperson Setyo Wasisto said police conducted DNA test to identified the two bombers. Identification of the network would only be conducted after the identity of the bombers were known. 

"The alleged bombers identity were still unidentified. There should be a checking, if it was identified, after that we check their originated network," said him when contacted on Friday (May 26).

Police had been suspicious that the bombing was related to JAD. It was based on the pattern of the attack conducted by the bombers.   

Head of General Information Division of National Police Martinus Sitompul said it had also a similar target, namely the police. "The pattern and modus were the same. It targeted the police," said him. 

Previously, American government stated JAD as related to ISIS as terrorist organization. American foreign minister stated JAD as a terrorist group based in Indonesia formed in 2015 as ISIS follower.
