REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The trial of blasphemy case with Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) as suspect would be held for the third time on Tuesday. It would be held at the same location with the previous trial at the ex-Central Jakarta District Court in Gajah Mada Street, Gambir, Central Jakarta.

Previously, Jakarta Police Chief Inspector General M Iriawan said that, starting this week, the trial might be moved to the auditorium of the Ministry of Agriculture, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta.

However, the Jakarta Metro Police spokesman, Police Commissioner Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono, asserted that the trial would be held at Gajah Mada Street. "The trial will still be held in Gajah Mada Street. The next trial will be shifted," Argo said when being contacted by Republika.co.id on Monday.

Argo did not explain the reason for the cancellation. But, the shifting would be conducted on the fourth session, in accordance with the letter issued by the Supreme Court.  "We only safeguard (the trial). The court knows better why it has to be moved later,” he said.

He added that the police would continue to safeguard the trial which becomes the public interest. Moreover, the agenda of the next trial would be the reading of interim decision. "We remain secure the trial at Gajah Mada Street, the agenda would only about the interim decision," said the former Head of the East Java Police spokesman.

Meanwhile, the defendant's legal advisor, Sirra Prayuna said he has not received the invitation letter for the undergoing trial in the Ministry of Agriculture Office on Tuesday. "Is it? Until today, we only receive the invitation to join the session at Gajah Mada Street (ex-Central Jakarta District Court). There is no other notification. But maybe later in the afternoon, there will be a new notification. But certainly, up to this morning, we are still in the position to be an invitee of the trial in North Jakarta District Court, in Gajah Mada Street, "said Sirra when being contacted by Republika.co.id on Monday morning.

Sirra argued that the ex-Office of Central Jakarta District Court has been quite ideal for the trial. “The room size at the North Jakarta District Court is enough; we have no problem with it. For us, the most important is that the trial runs well, orderly, in accordance with the order read by the clerk," said Sirra.

Up to now on, the legal team said that they haven’t got any confirmation of the transfer. In fact, they need to observe the location for setting things up. "Considering the amount of our team, we must know how the quality of the room and setting up the time. We need to know how long time we need to get there. In my opinion, this is not easy. But, if there was already a decision, wherever it is, we are ready," he said.
