Police to examine NPM bus owner for transporting 212 rally mass

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The business owner of Naiklah Perusahaan MInang (NPM) autobus in Padang Panjang, Angga Vircansa Chairul, would be examined by Jakarta Metro Police investigators. He would be interviewed at the Directorate of Resorts and Special Crime (Ditreskrimsus) Office, Jakarta, on Wednesday (Dec 28) for an alleged treason trial case.

Jakarta Metro Police spokesman, Sr. Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono, said Angga would be examined as a witness to the treason case. "As planned, it would be conducted on December 28,” Argo said when contacted by Republika.co.id, Sunday.

According to Argo, the investigation was related to the allegation that the 212 rally mass were taken to Jakarta to attempt treason. This was associated to the alleged treason case commited by Rachmawati Soekarnoputri et al.  “He did not involved. His status is as a witness. We want to ask how many busses and people NPM carried and so on,” said him.

The examination to Angga is a continuation of some arrests by the police. Twelve people were arrested before the 212 rally in the National Monument (Monas), Central Jakarta on Friday (Dec 12).

Eight people were stated as suspects in an alleged treason case. They were the former expert of Indonesian Military Commander Brigadier General (ret) Adityawarman Taha, the former Chef of Kostrad Staff (ret) Kivlan Zein, the founder of Indonesian Uni Democratic Party (PUDI) Sri Bintang Pamungkas, the Vice Chairman of Gerindra for Ideology Affairs Rachmawati Soekarnoputri, a political and human rights activist Ratna Sarumpaet, the Head of the Department of Research on Ideology of Gerindra Eko Suryo Santjojo, the activist of Solidaritas Sahabat Cendana Firza Husein, and the labor activist Alvin Indra al Fariz.

Three other suspects were the Chairman of the Komando Barisan Rakyat (KBR) Izal Rizal, the Chairman of the Community Alliance of North Jakarta (AMJU) Jamran, and the Director of Soekarno-Hatta Institute Hatta Taliwang. They were suspected on the dissemination of hate speech.

The police also arrested a musician who was also being a candidate of Bekasi Deputy Regent, Ahmad Dhani. He was suspected on doing a humiliation or an insult of President Joko Widodo.  

Three of twelve suspects were detained at the police station. They were Sri Bintang Pamungkas, Izal Rizal, and Jamran.
