REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, ACEH -- The National Movement to Defend the Indonesian Council of Ulama's Fatwa (GNPF MUI) has staged two massive rally precede Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) named as suspect of religious blasphemy. According to Vice Chairman of People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Hidayat Nur Wahid, some people have wrong interpretation about the message of action to defend Islam (Aksi Bela Islam).

On November 4, GNPF MUI held peaceful rally supported by hundred of thousands Muslims. Some organization and individuals with different religious background was mingled with Muslims to asked legal proceeding against religious blasphemy perpetrator. "Meanwhile, some people has considered November 4 rally as intolerance, anti peaceful, selfish action. In fact, Aksi Bela Islam II was pure to ask law enforcement against perpetrator of diversity defamation, especially in the matters of religion," he said on Sunday night.

Therefore, Hidayat said, November 4 rally should not be exaggerated, let alone to be feared. "The people only demanding for law enforcement for the religious blasphemer," he remarked.

Hidayat said Indonesia is a state law. The law should be running as it should, without any pressure. "The demonstration on November 4 arise because there was a blockage in our legal system," he said during Four Pillars of MPR sosialization in Banda Aceh, NAD.

Therefore, Hidayat thought the November 4th rally should be a performance evaluation to the law enforcement officials rather than scaring the public related the peaceful rally.
