REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chairman of Islamic Student Association (HMI) Mulyadi P Tamsir was questioned as witness at Jakarta Metro Police. Started at 14.10 p.m., the interrogation ended at 18.00 p.m. Mulyadi did not say a word when asked by the investigator regarding November 4 riot.

Mulyadi explained to the reporters, the police questioned him about his relationship with four member of HMI being arrested. Totally, there were 50 questions. "Today, I was asked to answer 19 questions," he said after the investigation on Tuesday (11/15).

According to Mulyadi, he has given the same answer to all questions. He told the investigator, "I don't want to give any infromation."

Mulyadi feared his statement will be used as justification to the Jakarta Metro Police chief statement. Previously, Jakarta Metro Police chief said HMI was the provocateur on November 4 riot. "Refuse to answer is my constitutional right," he said.

The police has said Mulyadi did not cooperative during the investigation on Thursday (11/10). HMI legal counselor Tegar Putuhena remarked Mulyadi has been cooperative. "He has shown it by showing up twice to fulfill Police invitation," he said.

So far, four member of HMI has been arrested. One of them was beaten by the police. "We questioned why such violence happened," senator Fahira Idris said after paying a visit to the four member of HMI at the Jakarta Metro Police on Tuesday.

Fahira promised to discuss the case with HMI legal counselor since the police caught the four member and named them suspect without assistance. From the information that she received, Fahira believed those HMI cadre--namely Ismail Ibrahim (23), Ramadhan Reubun, Muhammad Rijal Berkat (26), and Rahmat Muni (33)-- were not persons who trigger the riot.

Meanwhile, General Secretary HMI Amijaya Halim has been freed by the subjectivity of the investigator. He was also been bailed by his attorney. Nevertheless, Amijaya status was still a suspect.
