REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SURABAYA -- Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Asman Abnur said, about 60 percent civil servants (PNS) only have administrative skills.

"60 percent of our civil servants only have administrative skills. No special expertise," Asman said in Surabaya on Thursday.

In fact, special skills are needed to run the government. Therefore, Asman will hold a vocational training program for civil servants. "The training will focus on the expertise such as statistics, transportation, and the environment," Asman said.

With vocational training, he expects it can add civil servant skill. Then the government has many professional and reliable civil servants. "If we have many professional civil servants it will be good. If there are areas that have less professional civil servants, we can send the civil servants," he said.
