Parliament conducts audit against Cipali Toll

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Commission V of the House of Representatives (DPR) have some records to the government related to the presence of Cikopo - Palimanan (Cipali) Toll used by homecoming travelers which was  starting on this year. Chairman of Commission V, Fairy Djemi Francis said, there were still some accidents prone points that endangered the riders and must immediately look for a solution.

Traffic signs which were still minimal, he added, became one focus of attention of the Commission V.

"Traffic signs should be propagated, especially the shock strips so that the driver can focus. The street lighting also needs to be added because at some point the road was still dark," said Fairy in the parliament complex, Jakarta, on Thursday, July 30.

In addition, Gerindra party politician was also mentioned about the rest area. Commission V, he added, urged that there were efforts to improve the rest area that could be used well by the drivers.

Finally, continued Fairy, related to the consolidation of audit at prone points. "We will give suggestion for Cipali Toll about the audit," he said.

Related to these records, the Commission V will soon undertake discussions with the relevant parties. In particular, to reduce the number of traffic accidents in Cipali Toll. As is known, since it was established in mid-June 2015, dozens of accidents have occurred on the highway and even claimed lives.
