Governor hopes toll road construction finished as per scheduled

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BALIKPAPAN -- East Kalimantan Governor Awang Faroek Ishak said a number of contractors have signed contracts to resume construction of the Balikpapan-Samarinda toll road.

"We hope the contractors could finish the job as scheduled. But what is more important is the quality," Awang said here on Monday.

Directors of five state companies -- PT Jaya Karya, PT Samacita, PT Waskita Karya, PT Adhi Hutama Karya and PT Adhi Karya, and construction and supervision consultants signed the contract to continue construction of the toll road.

Head of the East Kalimantan Public Works office HM Taufik Fauzi said auction has been set for the construction of the 22 kilometer toll road divided into five sections of packages.

"The contractor for the first package of 4.8 kilometers is PT Wijaya Karya, with contract value of Rp322.3 billion, and the construction consultant is PT Anugrah Trida Pradana," Taufik said.

The contractor for package II 3.45 kilometer long is PT Bangun Cipta valued at Rp 238.2 billion and the construction consultant is PT Anugrah Trida Pradana,he said.

"For the package III 5.90 Kilometers long the contractor is PT Adhi Karya with contract value of Rp317.7 billion and the construction consultant is PT Anugrah Trida Pradana," he said.

The contractor for the 3.9 kilometer package IV is PT Hutama Karya with contract value of Rp273.5 billion and the construction consultant is PT Anugrah Trida Pradana.

The contractor for the Package V, 3.28 Kilometers long is PT Waskita Karya with contract value of Rp273.6 billion and the construction consultant is PT Anugrah Trida Pradana.

Taufik said the the project of the Package V would be financed with a loan from China and fund from the state budget making up 10 percent.

All conditions set by the National Development Planning Board (Bappenas) and the public works ministry have been fully met.
