Military officers arrests two drug dealers

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, NUNUKAN -- The officers of 433/Julu Siri Infantry Battalion have arrested two drug dealers who distributed crystal meth in Sebatik area of North Kalimantan Province.

The Commander of Border Task Force of 433/Julu Siri Infantery Battalion Lieutenant Colonel Agustatius Sitepu said here last Saturday the officers have arrested two persons as drugs dealers in two different locations.

After the officers received a report from local people, the soldiers gathered in Maspul Village of Central Sebatik Sub-district at 01:00 a.m. local time. During the seizure, the officers detained a drug dealer namely AD (22) after they found two crystal meth packages stored in a cigarette box in his pants.

The soldiers also arrested another drug dealer named AR (19) after interrogating AD. The officers found four packages of crystal meth from AR.

Agustatius said the security officers had confiscated several evidences such as six packages of crystal meth, four cellular phones, a wallet, as well as a cash of Rp14 thousand and 12 Malaysian ringgit.

The detainees admitted they get the drugs from a drug dealer in Sabah State of Malaysia.

The two drug dealers worked as labors in oil palm plantation.

"We will hand over the drug dealers to Indonesian Police for further investigation and legal process," Agustatius said.
