President to inaugurate Ahok as Jakarta Governor on Wednesday

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, known as Ahok, will soon to be a Governor of Jakarta as President Joko 'Jokowi' widodo has signed Presidential Decree on Ahok's inauguration. Minister of Interior Affairs and State Secretary will discuss procedure of inauguration. 

"The President signed the Presidential Decree yesterday (Monday)," Cabinet Secretary Andi Widjajanto said on Tuesday, November 18.

The signed decree will be taken to Ministry of Laws and Human Rights. Then, Ministry of Interior Affairs and State Secretary will set the procedure of inauguration.

The inauguration is scheduled on Wednesday at the State Palace around 02.00 pm. Initially the inauguration would take place at the Jakarta's house of representative. 

Ahok is currently an acting Governor of Jakarta as the former Governor, Jokowi, is elected as president. However, his inauguration raises pros and cons. Religious organization group called Islamic Defenders Front rejects Ahok as a governor.
