REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Newly inaugurated Vice President Jusuf Kalla during his first day in office on Tuesday is scheduled to receive nine foreign envoys consecutively at the Vice Presidential Palace on Merdeka Selatan street.

According to a press statement from the vice presidential office on Tuesday, Kalla will receive special envoys from Russia, Thailand, the Netherlands, Turkey, the Republic of Korea, People Republic of China, Vietnam, and Srilanka consecutively starting at 10 am local time.

There is no information about the agenda of the meeting between the new vice president and the special envoys from these foreign countries. But they will probably talk about the improvement of bilateral relations, particularly during the government of Joko Widodo and Jusuf Kalla.

Joko Widodo, better known as Jokowi, and Jusuf Kalla (JK) were inaugurated on Monday as president and vice president after they took oath during the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) plenary meeting.
