REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, DENPASAR - Five Indonesian warships were deployed in Bali waters to secure the Seventh Bali Democracy Forum (BDF) that is scheduled to be held on October 10-11, 2014, in Nusa Dua, Badung District of Bali.

Commander of Denpasar Naval Base Colonel Julius Widjojono remarked on Monday that the five Indonesian warships were KRI Surabaya, KRI Ahmad Yani, KRI Weling, KRI Pulau Rimau, and KRI Singa.

"We deployed five warships to anticipate security disturbances that may surface from the maritime territory, especially from the prone area around Benoa Harbor, Denpasar," Colonel Julius Widjojono emphasized.

The warships have been stationed for the past several days to conduct maritime patrols in the Balinese waters. The authority will restrict water sport activities such as parasailing in some parts of the sea territory, so that the take-off and landing of aircraft are not interrupted due to proximity to the Ngurah Rai International Airport.

The Denpasar Naval Base will also deploy 200 personnel to six security posts around the Benoa Harbor for ensuring marine security. The Seventh Bali Democracy Forum was scheduled to be inaugurated by Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and three presidents of neighboring countries such as the Philippines President Benigno Aquino, Timor Leste President Xanana Gusmao, and Brunei Darussalam's Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah.
