Jokowi: Jakarta 90 percent ready to face floods

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Facing rainy season in Indonesia, the new Governor of Jakarta, Joko Widodo, or known as Jokowi, said that the local government had prepared everything to face flood. Flood is one of the main problems in Jakarta.

"The preparation has reached 90 percent. The rest is the implementation," Jokowi said on Tuesday. Logistics, evacuation, and first aid kit have been prepared.

He emphasized that the most important point to save the victims of flood was to disseminate information during the flood, especially information on the latest information on the latest updates. 

. The officers must inform the inhabitants about the flood condition.

"Field officers should immediately go to areas hit by flood," Jokowi said.

Jokowi will also prepare organizational management. The effort includes how to manage evacuation points, hospital, and general kitchen. With the management, he expects the officers and victims easily find those areas.
