Bank Syariah Mandiri injects fund to BMT

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PASURUAN -- Subsidiary of Bank Mandiri, Bank Syariah Mandiri injected funds to sharia micro banking or Baitul Maal wat Tamwil (BMT) of Sidogiri. This partnership was formed in terms of account management process to increase the capital of BMT Sidogiri.

BSM Commercial Director, Sugiharto explained that the cooperation had been conducted since 2000. However, it was a non-formal system to provide additional capital. BSM currently has a great time to work together to do the formal signing of memorandum of understanding (MoU).

"We have channeled 300 billion IDR funds to BMT," Sugiharto said recently as reported by Ichsan Emrald Alamsyah and Heri Purwata.

The increased performance of BMT Sidogiri, Sugiharto added, it would be a great opportunity for BSM in term of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) financing.

BSM has 75 percent financing for SMEs. There is a possibility that SMEs financing will be increased. Islamic economic is a solution for Indonesian people, specifically as an effort to solve the economic problems in lower level of society.
