REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Ailing state owned carrier PT Merpati Nusantara Airlines (Merpati) will form three subsidiaries. Merpati's Corporate Secretary, Riswanto said that these subsidiaries would be in charge of aircraft maintenance, flight training and joint operations.
"They are PT Merpati Maintenance Facility International (MMF), PT Merpati Training Centre (MTC) and PT Merpati Aviation Services," Riswanto said on Tuesday.
He explained that government should meet the requirements as a state owned company and should register to Ministry of Justice and Human Rights. It is currently processed by a notary.
The spinoff is still on assessment process of MMF and MTC. Business and asset valuation is conducted transparently by independent agency coordinated with state asset management company, PT Perusahaan Pengelola Aset (PPA) as the owner or representatives of Ministry of State Owned Enterprises.
"This process is carried out as soon as possible. After that, we will begin restructuring process," Riswanto said.
