REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- After hearing the quick count result, candidate number one in Jakarta gubernatorial election, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), realized that he got the least vote. Agus admitted his loss with knightly and gracefully. "As well as other competitions, there will be winners and losers, happiness and grief. That's the reality of life," Agus said in Wisma Proklamasi, Menteng, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (Feb 15) night.

Agus said he has phoned the candidate number two, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok), to congratulate him on leading the local race. Also, he claimed to had called the pair of candidate number three, Anies Baswedan-Sandiaga Uno, for the same purpose. "I've tried to call but both of them still busy," he remarked.

Furthermore, Agus left messages to whoever elected as governor and deputy governor of Jakarta. He hoped the elected leader would be fair, wise and loving and caring to the peoples. He reminded that Jakartans not only hoped for material but also holistic happiness.

Representing Sylviana Murni as his deputy governor candidate, Agus conveyed his apology to the supporters and constituents. He believed God's plan is always the best. "And I thanked to the four parties that supported me in the election," he remarked.
