REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PALEMBANG -- The South Sumatra Financial Service Authority (OJK) has been ready to support the acceleration of economic development in the province, OJK spokesman Lukdir Gultom remarked here on Friday.
He noted that the OJK will establish a team to accelerate regional financial access and to coordinate on issues related to the regional economy.
"The team will help to accelerate economic development and to increase the local people's welfare," he affirmed.
Further, he noted that the team must be established to improve the local economy.
According to Gultom, the team will be chaired by the province's governor and Bank Indonesia, National Land Agency (BPN), and the financial service industry in OJK as the members.
In the meantime, South Sumatra Governor Alex Noerdin said he had received a report on the establishment of the team to accelerate regional financial access.
The governor noted that he will facilitate the establishment of the team to ensure better development of the local economy.
He emphasized that South Sumatra was taking efforts to speed up economic development by building a special economic zone.
