Jakarta index opens higher, Rupiah weakens

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Jakarta share price index (JCI) opened slightly or 0.02 percent higher at 5,166.21 points on Thursday.

The index of 45 most liquid stocks gained 0.03 percent to 880.94 points.

Meanwhile rupiah lost more value against the US dollar in the first minutes of trading. The currency traded at the level of 11,679 per dollar weakening from earlier level of 11,669 per dollar.
