REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANJARMASIN - Governor and House of Representative of South Kalimantan will sue Pearl Oil, a foreign company from Thailand, an oil and gas offshore company operating in Larilarian Island, Kotabaru district of South Kalimantan.

"If their mining activities conducted without permit and doesn't involve local government then we will take legal action," Deputy Chairman of the Regional House, Riswandi said on Sunday.

According to him, based on de facto, historical geographical and yuridis, Larilarian Island -also called Lereklerekan Island by people of West Sulawesi- is an entry into the terriroty of South Kalimantan.

Riswandi said Pearl Oil's mapping was not accurate in mining the oil and gas in Larilarian Island. The company only coordinated with Provincial government of West Sulawesi and didn't involve the government of South Kalimantan.
