Aher calls on Indonesian Muslims to help Imam Shamsi Ali

Imam Shamsi Ali has a dream to build Islamic boarding school in New York.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- West Java Governor, Ahmad Heryawan fully supported the development of Indonesia's Islamic Boarding School (pesantren) in New York, United Stated (US). He also expected that the development of mosque in there will be the beginning of Indonesian Muslim community's contribution to the world.

 

"I hope the mosque development in New York markS the beginning of Indonesia's community contribution to the world," said man who usually called as Aher when giving a speect at One Heart Concert on Sunday (Feb 4) night.

 

Aher assessed preacher Imam Shamsi Ali's dream must be realized by all Muslims in Indonesia. It could not be the leader of Islamic Center New York's work alone. 

 

"He (Imam Shamsi Ali) wants to build Islamic Boarding School in New York and Muslims residents in the US are not as many as in Indonesia. So, let's make it happen," Aher added.

 

Aher explained the mission is noble. Nevertheless, the fund that needed to build the mosque and Islamic Boarding School in New York is big. It requires high cost, as the land price in one of big cities in the world is really expensive.

 

According to Aher, the Islamic Boarding School and mosque in New York will be built on 7.5 hectares land. He was grateful that finally Indonesia will contribute to build civilization by building Islamic boarding school in the US. Moreover, usually mosque and Islamic education facilities are to built by the Middle East people.
