Luar Batang mosque rejects two cows from Ahok

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Two cows given by Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) as sacrifice for Eid al-Adha was rejected by the board of Luar Batang mosque on Sunday (9/11).

The secretary of the board of Masjid Keramat Luar Batang, Mansur Amin, said, the reason for the rejection was due to the dignity of the citizens and Muslims who has been victims of eviction.

"As we all know, there are terms and conditions of the sacrifice. Ahok is not a Muslim and therefore his cows can not be accepted as sacrificial animal. And all this time, Ahok has hurt and opress the people, both in the form of policies as well as his words," said the man who is well known as Daeng Mansur.

Mansur, for the sake of dignity of Muslim and people around Luar Batang, the board of Luar Batang Mosque refused Ahok donation. The two cows has been returned to the sender, even though the receipt has been signed.

Meanwhile, being interviewed today (9/12), Ahok said his donation has already been accepted by board of Luar Batang mosque. "There is a receipt on it. They did not refuse to take it," said Ahok at City Hall.

Ahok said, Mansur always speaking all sort. "He''s the one who write and sign the receipt letter," said Ahok.

According to Ahok, he gave the donation in response to one of Luar Batang public figure, Habib Umar, request. "I would not give if it had not been asked," he said. Habib Umar was not a member of the board of Luar Batang mosque.
