REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Council of Indonesian Ulama  (MUI) giving response about pork rice for sale in Lippomall Puri, West Jakarta that cause uproar because the seller is woman with hijab. But the veiled woman just as worker and the owner are Oey Cecilia and Tommy.

In response, the Secretary General of the MUI Buya Anwar Abbas said, if Muslims want to eat, they must consider whether they consume is kosher or not. Then is the food is good (thoyyib) or not.

"If the food is not lawful, the consumption is absolutely problematic because it will damage their faith. If it is not ‘thoyyib’, it can damage the psychology of those who consume it," he said, Tuesday (24/5).

If we're going to consume the food, he reminded, Muslim must ensure the food is lawful and ‘thoyyib’. So if they already know the product clearly illegitimate, then Muslim better to leave it.

"So the consumption activities of Muslims should not damage religion, physical, and health," Anwar added.
