At APEC, Indonesia flexes its muscle to fight corruption

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BEIJING -- President Joko 'Jokowi' widodo stated that Indonesia supported APEC cooperation to fight corruption. The statement was issued during the talks on economic reformation in APEC Summit.

President Jokowi outlined the importance of clean and efficient government to support sustainable growth. "We also refuse to give protection to corruptors," Jokowi said on Tuesday, November 11, as cited from press release.

The APEC commitment is expected to be a first step to build cooperation through repatriation or extradiction of corruptors and retrieve of billions of illegal assets abroad.
