REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesia's Foreign Affairs Minister Marty Natalegawa recently met with his Malaysian counterpart Dato' Sri Anifah Hj. Aman to discuss bilateral cooperation in sectors such as trade, education, and negotiate on issues facing some border areas.
According to a press release from the Foreign Affairs Ministry on Tuesday, both ministers met on Monday and positively welcomed the efforts made by both Indonesia and Malaysia to accelerate negotiations regarding some border areas.
The two ministers also agreed to provide better access to education for Indonesian descendants living in Sabah, Malaysia. As for cooperation in the trade sector, both ministers stated that Indonesia and Malaysia would like to jointly promote palm oil products in the global market.
Other issues discussed during the closed-door meeting included cooperation in investment and tourism and a discussion on international issues.
