REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, EAST LAMPUNG -- The Government of East Lampung district organized a cultural festival showcasing various art and cultural performance by locals known to be ethnically diverse. The festival offered an opportunity to highlight the people's art and cultural potentials that have yet to be shown to the public, Acting Sub-district Head of West Lampung Zaiful Bokhari stated during the opening of the festival in East Lampung, Monday.
Furthermore, he believed that the activity also provided a platform to promote tourism among local and national tourists.
He explained that the government of East Lampung is now intensively promoting the tourism potentials to attract tourists to the region.
Bokhari, who is also the deputy sub-district head of East Lampung, noted that in 2017, the local government had successfully offered 22 festival tour packages.
In 2018, as many as 102 festival tour packages, comprising district and village festivals, will be held through mutual cooperation between citizens and the local government.
"The festival would hopefully be able to improve the good image of East Lampung and increase tourist visits," he added.
